Ignorance is bliss.
I feel the need to make one last comment on the rock concert after seeing some of the ignorant remarks made to my earlier post. Firstly I would like to say that I am not a moaner and the remarks like I would complain the crickets are too loud proves to me just shows how ignorant some people can be as I have said earlier I love live music but not at 3 am, I was at a quizz on the square until midnight and could hardly hear the concert, when I went home they may have turned it up because it was loud in my house so much so that I stayed up until it went quiet which was 3 am, a person that I know who lives a lot further away than I do tells me me it was very loud in his house, so loud infact that he called the police and when they came round to his house they agreed that the noise level was too high and went to the concert and told them to turn it down, so all you ignorant people why don't you save your nasty remarks and if you are lucky enough not to bothered by the noise don't start calling those that are. save your ignorance for like minded people just to add to that I have never complained about the bars as I think they try very hard to stay with in the rules. If the council used a little common sense they would put this type of event on at San Fulgencio football ground, plenty of space and very few houses nearby, how many people on this urb like this type of music, I would guess that it would not be many.
Trevor,
My family are amongst the fortunate on The Urb, we live far enough away not to be bothered by Rock Concerts, Fiestas or "pub noise".
That having been said this rock concert should never have been allowed to happen wherever it was held.
It now transpires that the main organisers of this concert was in fact a local hostelry, supported in small way by our council.
Bearing in mind that our councillors, local police, guardia civil and national police harass our publicans I think a change of tactic is welcome from these people to see that our publicans have the licences they need within an acceptable structure to keep us all entertained rather than one pub having the right to promote a concert to the discomfort of the entire Urb?
It needs to be either Iceland area or Football ground area. Problem is only owner of Dos Mas will not like that. But now is the time to sort it Jeff. Go on upset some of those mini Gods who do not even live in the area. I DARE YOU?
I think that the quarry area near Iceland would be best. There are a few shops there plus the Saturday market. Plus those taking part could walk down to the beach. Sound wise much better. After all not many people live in that area. Sorry Dos Mas but most people are not in any way amused. Not against the Music just where it was dumped again.
We love Rock, but was utterly amazed that it was put on in the open in the middle of a built up area. The organists are just giving Rock a bad name. It should I hope be down near Iceland next year. Commercial events of that size belong a Little bit away from where it is heavily populated.
I can see though that if it is true about it being run by Dos Mas he will not wish to have it anywhere else other than next door to his established business.
It's a shame that there are so many threads all against the Concert on the site, why not stick to just one thread.
yep! or the area at the back of Mercachina? We can always hope they lost so much money this year they won't do it again though...
Daisy organists play the "organ", organisers," organise" events. Must say you have given me a laugh which is more than I can say for some people.
We used to live near a theme park and to stop us moaning about noise they gave the nearby residents free tickets.... maybe this is somthing they could look into next year.
Like your way of thinking itsmemw but somehow I don't think that will stop some of the elderly moaning about youngsters enjoying themselves.
How long did it take you to learn how to become an idiot or were you born tha way.
I hope any readers of this post who were not bothered by the noise will keep their ignorance to themselves.
